My Story

Hello, thank you for dropping by.

I am Dawn Shrives, a strong administrative professional whose background is administration from its most pure and simple form to its most complex.

I have always loved organising things and people and knew my professional life would be doing just that.  I started my working life as a receptionist/switchboard operator at Walton Hall at The Open University when I left school.  Following a 10 year break living abroad and raising a family I came back to the UK and started again, working my way through different levels of administrative roles covering various departments within organisations and sectors.  From front desk reception, railway accounts department, telesales and an Executive Assistant’s Assistant (yes there was such a thing), my roles were varied to say the least, but all the time learning and the experience invaluable.

Over time, with experience gained and with further training I worked in the world of organisational and personal development, helping to recruit the right people for the right job and assess development needs of those already in post.  A rewarding sector to work in, I learned so much and gained great project management business skills.  These were put to good use in my role as PA to the CEO and Office Manager of a charity for older people, another worthwhile role and very fulfilling.

A move to another city brought more opportunities, utilising my strong organisational and administration skills to the max – for the past 5 years I have had the pleasure of being PA to the founder and former Director of an accountancy firm specialising in the medical sector, the late Dr Ray Stanbridge.

And now?  Well, Dawn Shrives – Business Admin Services is back, offering a wealth of experience in all areas of administration and organisation in this world of remote working.  I am here and happy to help, your organisation is my business….
